Dear Colleagues,
I hope that this email finds you well. I write today to continue to keep you informed about the presidential transition. It is with much excitement that I share details about the national search for my successor as Chapman’s next Executive Vice President and Chief Advancement Officer (EVP/CAO). This leader will continue the momentum of Inspire: The Campaign for Chapman University and lead University Advancement (UA) to even greater heights.
The EVP/CAO will play a critical role in advancing Chapman’s mission, leading a dynamic UA team to elevate our philanthropic efforts and grow the success of the comprehensive advancement program. Reporting to the president, the EVP/CAO will oversee our work and initiatives supporting development, alumni and family engagement, donor relations, advancement systems, and advancement operations, guiding the successful completion of the $500 million Inspire campaign and contributing to the actualization of current and future strategic plans.
This pivotal role will be a connector for the Chapman family, building and deepening internal and external relationships and strengthening our culture of philanthropy to help fuel Chapman’s continued growth and excellence. The next EVP/CAO will help enrich engagement with our donors and volunteers while also cultivating the next generation of supporters and will help strengthen Chapman’s position as a nationally recognized university of academic distinction.
On the search committee, I am joined by:
• Irv Chase, Trustee and Chair of the University Advancement Committee
• Lou Claggett, Governor and Member of the University Advancement Committee
• Jennifer Keene, Dean of the Wilkinson College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences
• Amy Rogan-Mehta, Senior Vice President of University Advancement
• Brenda Rushforth, Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer
• Marie Williams, Vice President of Marketing and Communications
We are fortunate to have Aspen Leadership Group supporting this national search, and I want to thank Aspen, all our committee members, and everyone who will contribute to this search as we work together to find the next leader for this important position.
Best,
Matt
