Dear Faculty and Staff,
I write today to keep you informed about the search for the next Executive Vice President, Provost, and Chief Academic Officer. Reporting to the President, this leader will play an important role in advancing Chapman’s mission, leading our academic strategy and operations, and helping to strengthen our position as a nationally recognized university of academic distinction.
I have assembled a search committee – to be chaired by Professor of Art Lia Halloran – that includes representation from across the campus. The search committee members are:
• Zeinab Dabbah, Chair of the Academic Committee of the Chapman Board of Trustees
• Cintya Felix, incoming President of the Student Government Association
• Grace Fong, Professor of Music
• Kelli Fuery, Professor of Creative and Cultural Industries and incoming President of the Faculty Senate
• Stephen Galloway, Dean of the Dodge College of Film and Media Arts
• Jeff Howard, Associate Vice President, Strategic Marketing and Communications
• Jim Mazzo, Vice Chair of the Chapman Board of Trustees
• Ren Ostrom, Dean of the School of Pharmacy
• Marco Panza, Professor of Philosophy
• Nidhi Vogt, Associate Vice President, University Advancement
• Bart Wilson, Professor of Economics and Law
Our aim is to assemble a pool of high-quality candidates from across the country and conclude a successful search by the end of the calendar year.
We are fortunate to have AGB Search supporting this national search, and I want to thank AGB, all our committee members, and everyone who will contribute to this search as we work together to find the next leader for this critical position. And I want to reiterate my appreciation for Acting Provost Glenn Pfeiffer, who continues his post through May 31, and Mike Ibba, who will become Interim Provost on June 1.
